I was born in June when the strawberries are ready for picking. It's been somewhat of a family tradition to go strawberry picking every year. We have quite a few family traditions which you'll be able to see more clearly as you navigate your way around the site and see what I get up to in my spare time.

I'm a bit of a clean freak, the direct opposite to the piles of stuff from my childhood. Evidently, I liked to clean as a toddler too, helping my Dad clean our car. Being tidy has helped me to become more organised, helping me achieve more in all aspects of my life.

My First Photos

The photography disease has always infected my bloodstream. The above centre photo was taken by me, aged 4, on a film camera. The photo above right was one of the first photos I took with my newly purchased Sony DSLT at the end of 2013.

Hunstanton is like a second home to me. I've been to this popular Victorian Seaside Resort at least once for every year of my life. Being one of the few places on the east coast where the sun can be seen setting over the sea it makes for some fantastic photos.

I loved dressing up as a child, so much so that I'm known as Tiger Joe to my aunties forever more due to a very memorable tiger onesie. I love going to the zoo, learning about my favourite animals and taking photos, trying to make it look like the animals are in the wild.

A Very Unique Child

I've always been a bit of an oddball, from my love for trains to owning my first car at age 15. The act of photography isn't very unique, but the way people look at the world is; creating some beautiful imagery for some, and a horrible mess for others.

How times have changed in the past decade. The image on the far left was taken during 2005 at an airshow at IWM Duxford. Compared with the 2015 counterpart it looks ancient, with blemishes and a sepia colour tone. I wonder what's in store for photography over the next decade.

Petrol Head

The smell of petrol has to be one of the best smells on the planet, that, and burnt rubber. You can see me, in 2015, driving a Go-Kart in Benidorm on the left and, in 2008, driving a tractor at Wimpole. You can expect a photo of me racing a car here sometime soon.

If someone asks me what type of photographer I am, I generally tell them I take pictures of planes, cars, and wildlife. That’s generally down to circumstance. My family and I are into those type of things, and that’s where I end up going to take photos. I’m still discovering my style and have the freedom to explore. So far, I have had many opportunities to capture vehicles and planes and I apply new skills and techniques each time. I take my camera everywhere so I’ve also been photographing aspects of wildlife in the British countryside. The thing that captivates me about photography is the opportunity to always learn more, no photographer is perfect, there is always room for improvement and I am always looking to improve my photography so I can take the best photos I possibly can.
Many of my photos have been featured in my local paper, The Cambridge News. My photos have also been shortlisted for two competitions, The LandLove 2017 Photography Competition, and The Herts Motor Show Classic Car Photography Competition. I have also taken photos for the Cambridge University Sports Centre, a Vintage Weigh and Pay event, and a Charity Golf event.
